THC Winter Spiced Sangria

It seems like this winter just won't let up! So let's give in and sip a warm and cozy glass of Sangria! The spices in this recipe pair so nicely with the added THC tincture you cannot go wrong! Enjoy a glass (or two) and as always lets us know what you think and #whatsinyourstash


Ingredients:

  • 1/3 c water

  • 1/3 c sugar

  • 1 cinnamon stick

  • 4 whole black peppercorns

  • 2 whole cloves

  • 1 whole star anise

  • 100mg of THC tincture

  • 1 (750mL) bottle light bodied red wine (We used Shiraz)

  • 3 small oranges

  • 1/4 c brandy

  • 1 apple, quartered, cored and sliced

  • 1 ripe pear, quartered, cored, and sliced

Instructions:

  1. In a saucepan, mix the sugar, water, and whole spices. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 3 min.

  2. Let the syrup steep and cool to room temperature, about 10 min.

  3. Once cooled add you THC tincture.

  4. Strain the syrup into a small bowl, reserving the cinnamon stick (the other spices can be discarded).

Putting It All Together

  1. Pour the wine into a large pitcher.

  2. Juice two oranges (you should have about ½ c of orange juice). Add the juice to the wine along with the brandy and the spiced syrup.

  3. Halve and slice the other orange and add it to the pitcher along with the other fruit slices. Add the cinnamon stick that you reserved from making the syrup.

  4. Serve garnished with additional fruit slices, if desired.
